How to Create and Use a Gmail App Password
If you’re trying to connect your Gmail account to third-party applications, Gmail app passwords allow you to do so securely. Follow these steps to create an app password for Gmail on your Cannabis TN Now account.
Step 1: Enable Two-Factor Authentication
Before creating an app password, you’ll need to enable two-factor authentication on your Gmail account.
- Go to your Google Account Security settings.
- Under "Signing in to Google," select 2-Step Verification and follow the prompts to set it up.
Step 2: Navigate to App Passwords
Once two-factor authentication is enabled, you can access the app password settings.
- Go back to Google Account Security settings.
- Under "Signing in to Google," select App Passwords. You may need to re-enter your password.
Step 3: Generate an App Password
To generate an app password:
- In the App Passwords section, select the app and device for which you want to create the password.
- Click Generate. Google will display a 16-character password.
- Copy the password and save it in a secure location.
Step 4: Use the App Password
Now you can use this app password to connect your Gmail account with Cannabis TN Now.
- When prompted for your Gmail app password in the Cannabis TN Now app, paste the app password instead of your regular Gmail password.
