How to Create and Use a Gmail App Password

If you’re trying to connect your Gmail account to third-party applications, Gmail app passwords allow you to do so securely. Follow these steps to create an app password for Gmail on your Cannabis TN Now account.

Step 1: Enable Two-Factor Authentication

Before creating an app password, you’ll need to enable two-factor authentication on your Gmail account.

  1. Go to your Google Account Security settings.
  2. Under "Signing in to Google," select 2-Step Verification and follow the prompts to set it up.

Step 2: Navigate to App Passwords

Once two-factor authentication is enabled, you can access the app password settings.

  1. Go back to Google Account Security settings.
  2. Under "Signing in to Google," select App Passwords. You may need to re-enter your password.

Step 3: Generate an App Password

To generate an app password:

  1. In the App Passwords section, select the app and device for which you want to create the password.
  2. Click Generate. Google will display a 16-character password.
  3. Copy the password and save it in a secure location.

Now you can use this app password to connect your Gmail account with Cannabis TN Now.

  • When prompted for your Gmail app password in the Cannabis TN Now app, paste the app password instead of your regular Gmail password.
